leave; and I approve of the arrangement
effected by your predecessor

for filling up this vacancy.
I should have been glad if
these changes had afforded an opportunity of placing Mr Alexander, whose long service would have been of Value, upon the Legislative
Council; and
if you
think it
desirable, I will not object to the
issue of a warrant making
